A senior official of China's Communist Party is set to visit North Korea next week apparently on a mission to help resume the stalled six-way talks on ending Pyongyang's nuclear weapons program, Yonhap News Agency reported Friday, citing informed sources in Beijing.
Wang Jiarui, the head of the party's international department, is expected to visit Pyongyang and meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Il next week, the sources said.

North Korea pulled out of the six-way talks in April 2009 in protest at the U.N. Security Council's condemnation of a rocket launch it conducted the same month.
North Korea added to the tension by conducting a second nuclear test in May last year.
In December last year, North Korea and the United States reached ''common understandings'' on the need to resume the six-party talks, but have yet to work out specifics.
